About Maine Studies
What is Maine Studies
Every year we take students in grades 6, 7, & 8 on a Maine Studies trip. Each trip is unique in itself allowing students to expand on what they have learned in the classroom and explore our state hands on.
6th grade students go to Baxter State Park to camp, hike, and learn about the park, it's wildlife, and plant life.
7th grade students will spend one night and two days camping and exploring the coast in Lamoine, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park.
8th grade students go to the East Coast for 2 nights of camping at Cobscook Bay State Park where they will learn about the rich history that surrounds that area, visit Campabello Island and the summer home of President Roosevelt, visit St. Croix Island, and much more.
how it benefits our students
-Create lasting memories
-Making friendship bonds
-Create a sense of community among the students knowing all students will get the same experience
-Applying classroom knowledge to real life and hands on situations
